A South Australian pizza delivery business says it has received a “significant” amount of interest from overseas investors in its operations, as the state’s economy continues to recover.
In an exclusive interview with News.au, Pizza Delivery South Australia CEO, Andrew Smith, said his business was “proud” of its record sales, as he said his customers had been “surprised and amazed” by the interest.
“I think the interest we’ve seen in the last 12 months is phenomenal,” Mr Smith said.
“People are really excited about the growth opportunities for the pizza delivery industry.”
We are a small business with a small turnover, so the growth is great.
“The people we’ve been working with have been amazing, so I think they have a genuine love for what we do.”
And that’s why I think people are really looking forward to seeing the growth and we’re going to be able to grow.
“Pizza Delivery South Australian is based in Brisbane’s Fitzroy district and operates three delivery businesses.
Mr Smith has been with the business since 2006, and says it is still “the same family”.”
We have three people who have been with us for the past 30 years,” he said.
The pizzeria is owned by an “extraordinarily lucky couple” who were “unafraid” to take risks.”
They’re incredibly lucky and we are very proud of them for that,” Mr Cook said.
Pizza deliveries are currently available in Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia and Western Australia.
Pizzeria Pizza was founded in 2011 and is one of the first businesses in the state to offer delivery services in South Australian.
The business has a history of serving South Australians, including a long line of delivery workers in Victoria’s Gold Coast and in the city of Alice Springs.”
Pizza delivery is our lifeblood,” Mr Brown said.
He said Pizza Delivery was not interested in offering pizza in Victoria until the state was “more affordable”.”
They don’t think that’s something that they can do at the moment,” he explained.”
There’s a real need for pizza in that state and they’re really excited that the state is finally becoming more affordable for them.
“So they want to serve the state, but they’re not thinking about doing it in Victoria.”
In 2018, the state of Victoria became the first jurisdiction in Australia to ban pizza delivery in the wake of the Sydney siege.
The legislation passed on April 1.
It came into effect a month after the death of Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott and came after more than two weeks of violence in Australia’s largest city.
At the time, the Australian government said it was not opposed to the pizza industry and believed there was a need for some kind of regulation.
“Victoria’s pizza delivery laws have been in place since the beginning of 2016,” Victoria Police Assistant Commissioner Shane Patton said at the time.
“While the Victorian Government has taken steps to ensure that the safety and security of the public is paramount, this is not an area of law that can be legislated or enforced in Victoria.”
If a person has been arrested for an offence under Victoria’s laws, they are afforded the opportunity to appear before a court.
“Pizzagate, a website run by right-wing conspiracy theorists who believe Hillary Clinton and the Obama administration are behind the conspiracy, was set up to investigate Pizza Delivery’s business and alleged links to the conspiracy.
Pizza Deliver said it had been contacted by two people who wanted to set up a delivery service in Victoria with a view to delivering pizzas for a profit.
Mr Smith said the pizzeria’s relationship with the Australian Federal Police was “great”.”
It’s always been an important partner for us, so we’re very proud,” he added.
Mr Cook said the Australian federal police would “absolutely not” allow Pizza Delivery to deliver in Victoria without a licence.”
It would be illegal to deliver pizzas in Victoria if we did,” he told News.
ComRes conducted a study in September and found that Pizza Delivery did not have a licence to deliver pizza in the State.
Mr Brown said Pizza Deliver was looking at the “potential” for an independent operator in Victoria to open a pizza delivery service.”
Mr Cook also said he hoped that Pizza Deliver would be able “to keep doing the business that it has been doing for the last 15 years”.””
There’s been a lot of things going on in the world, including the election, which has affected us.”
Mr Cook also said he hoped that Pizza Deliver would be able “to keep doing the business that it has been doing for the last 15 years”.
“The Australian Federal Government will not allow us to continue doing what we’ve done,” he warned.
